Photo #1, depicts the entire top view of a 1970’s coffee table that the artist christens as NOSTALGIC FURNITURE. It is the very first creation of a series of works with the same style and was originated in 1992. Initially executed as an experiment, it contained items such as vinyl records, stickers, concert tickets and more. However, as it remained a coffee table in the artist’s home, Myke’s wife (at the time) continually added small contributions of stickers and other various insignificant items that eventually turned it into a cluster of confusing detail. Nevertheless, it was maintained and sealed with more than 8 coats of polyurethane to lock in its attachments for a lifetime. Though it’s riddled with scars and battle wounds of countless moves from home, to home and destructive abuse from boots, shoes, vacuums, bumps, snags, ashtrays and other various forms of punishment, it has survived and remains in Myke’s possession as a “nostalgic memory” of his past that can be viewed day after day.

Vinyl Records: John Lennon (original Apple Core Records label), Ozzy Osbourne, Rolling Stones, The Empire Hideous, Blondie, The Ramones, Elton John, The Sex Pistols, Meat Loaf.
Concert Tix’s: Siouxsie & The Banshees, Dead Can Dance, The Mission UK, Sisters Of Mercy, Lush, Jane’s Addiction, KISS, Billy Idol, David Bowie, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and more.
